Our Heritage

Our story begins in Hatton Garden in 1962, when the family established Mehta Bros at the heart of London’s diamond trade. In 1986, Eurogems was founded to carry that work forward — the same family, the same standards, in the same quarter where the trade has always been done.

More than sixty years on, we remain a family business, with roots in diamonds that reach back well before our arrival in Hatton Garden. We have built our name the way reputations in this trade are always built — one stone, one client, and one honest dealing at a time. Many of the relationships we value most have lasted decades, a fact we regard as the truest measure of how we work.

What We Do

We are diamond and gemstone specialists serving dealers, jewellers, and trade professionals. Our focus is loose stones of genuine character: rare fancy coloured diamonds, old and European cuts, matched fancy shaped pairs, and fine coloured gemstones. We source, select, and supply — and where a client needs something specific, we find it.

The Eurogems Standard

Where a diamond is certified, it is independently verified by GIA or IGI. But not every stone carries a certificate, nor should it — for smaller or more modest stones, the cost of certification can outweigh its value, and a report adds little a trained eye cannot already see. We have always believed a certificate is a beginning, not an end: two diamonds with identical reports can look entirely different in the hand, and a fine stone without paper is a fine stone still. So we judge each one ourselves, for life, for light, and for the qualities no grading scale fully captures. That judgement, refined across generations of the family, is what clients are really buying when they buy from us.
